C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 1998 to impart technical education to the boys and girls of this backward region. Much before this the Arts and Science College in the same name and other schools managed by the Melvisharam Muslim Educational Society had own public acclaim and reputation in this area for having lit up the homes with the light of literacy and respectability. Therefore, the Engineering College did not have any difficulty to notch a niche in imparting knowledge in engineering field from its inception and to maintain a blazing track record of achievements with a high degree of emphasis on service to humanity. The College not only provides the right ambience for the students to learn but also encourages creativity among students and faculty members. In recognition of its performance, the college has been awarded the ISO 9001 – 2000 certification by BSI – UKAS. Just recently three of the Engineering Streams got accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi.

 

The School of Management is in its nascent stage, having been started in 2006. It is approved by AICTE and affiliated to AnnaUniversity, Chennai. Though it is in its second year of its existence, it is functioning as though it has been there for many years, because the learning curve quickly reached its crest due to the experienced faculty members from premier institutions giving the right direction to the students. The presence of many large, medium and small industries nearby and in the belt between Chennai and Melvisharam, the students of the school of management have abundant opportunity to have industry-institution interaction by way of industrial visits and also through guest lectures which are arranged every week without fail. Industrial guests from Chennai also visit our students. Such activities not only have satiated the individual's intellectual curiosity but also have ensured the students to become aware of their responsibility to society and the environment.
